Police Disowns Viral ‘50,000 Constables’ Training Directive
A purported police directive announcing the commencement of training for 50,000 newly recruited constables has been exposed as fake, raising fresh concerns over misinformation surrounding the ongoing recruitment process.
The Nigeria Police Force said the press release circulating online, which purportedly carried the name of the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, was neither issued nor authorised by the Force.
The police urged recruitment candidates and members of the public to disregard the document and rely only on updates published through the official police recruitment portal and verified NPF communication channels.
The Force said it had begun efforts to identify those behind the fake document, warning that anyone found responsible would face appropriate legal action.
The development comes as police recruitment candidates are being cautioned against relying on unverified announcements that could mislead them about the recruitment and training process.
