Troops Rescue Kidnapped Traders, Recover Stolen Car In Katsina
Swift military intervention has foiled two separate criminal operations in Katsina State, with troops rescuing abducted traders and recovering a stolen vehicle while arresting two suspects.
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, rescued traders abducted along the Funtua-Faskari axis after terrorists intercepted their commercial vehicle and forced them into the bush.
Responding to a distress call, the troops pursued the attackers and engaged them in a firefight, forcing the terrorists to retreat and abandon their captives.
The victims, who were unharmed, were escorted to Sheme Market, where they reunited with their communities.
In a separate operation along the Katsina-Dutsin-Ma highway, troops working with the Nigeria Police Force intercepted a stolen gold Toyota Corolla following credible intelligence.
Two suspects, 28-year-old Abdulmalik Haruna and 44-year-old Mohammed Kabir, were arrested and handed over to the Police at Dutsin-Ma Division for further investigation and legal action.
