Troops Arrest Four Suspected Lakurawa Terrorists, Recover Rustled Cattle In Sokoto
Nigeria’s military says intelligence-led operations are continuing to disrupt terrorist logistics in the North-West, with the latest raid leading to the arrest of four suspected Lakurawa terrorists and the recovery of rustled cattle in Sokoto State.
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, carried out the operation on 6 August after receiving intelligence that suspected Lakurawa members had taken stolen cattle to Darusa Village Market for sale.
The troops arrested the four suspects without incident and recovered six cows, two mobile phones and ₦165,000 believed to be proceeds from the planned illegal transaction.
The suspects, identified as Usman Bammo, Muhammadu Dage, Ali Usman and Abubakar Garba, are currently in military custody undergoing preliminary interrogation before being handed over to the appropriate security agencies for further investigation and prosecution.
Military authorities said the operation reflects the growing impact of intelligence-driven offensives under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, which continues to target terrorist cells, disrupt criminal networks and recover stolen property across the North-West.
They also urged residents to continue providing credible information to support ongoing security operations.
