TCN Deepens Community Partnership To Protect Power Infrastructure In Kaduna
Community engagement is increasingly proving to be a vital tool in protecting Nigeria’s critical electricity infrastructure, with stronger collaboration helping to curb vandalism and improve power transmission.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kaduna Region, has strengthened its partnership with its host communities following a courtesy visit by the United Progressive Youth of Afaka (UPYA) to its regional office in Kaduna.
During the meeting, both parties discussed ways to deepen cooperation, promote peaceful coexistence and encourage greater community involvement in safeguarding transmission facilities.
General Manager (Transmission), Kaduna Region, Engr. Nasir Mansur S. Fada, said TCN remains committed to open dialogue, mutual respect and sustained collaboration with host communities.
He stressed that protecting transmission infrastructure is a shared responsibility that benefits all Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, UPYA Secretary-General Abdulhafiz Yahya praised TCN’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and pledged the group’s continued support for protecting transmission installations, describing the partnership as beneficial to both the Afaka community and the nation’s power network.
TCN said its ongoing stakeholder engagement and sensitisation programmes have continued to strengthen trust with host communities while encouraging residents to see transmission facilities as national assets deserving collective protection.
