Yobe Police Chief Assesses Security At NYSC Camp, Urges Vigilance
Security remains a critical pillar for the success of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, particularly in states facing evolving security challenges.
The Commissioner of Police in Yobe State, CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has conducted an on-the-spot security assessment of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area, to strengthen safety measures for corps members and camp officials.
During the visit, the police chief engaged corps members on the need for heightened security awareness, urging them to promptly report suspicious activities and cooperate with camp authorities and security personnel throughout the orientation exercise.
CP Jibrin also inspected security arrangements around the camp and charged officers deployed to the facility to remain vigilant, professional and proactive in carrying out their duties.
The visit formed part of the Yobe State Police Command’s renewed strategy to protect critical institutions and public facilities through preventive security measures.
Corps members entertained the delegation with parade drills, Taekwondo displays and other skills acquired during the orientation programme.
Welcoming the Commissioner, NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Okochi Okpara, commended the strong partnership between the Police Command and the scheme, describing it as vital to ensuring the safety and welfare of corps members and camp staff.
