TCN Maintenance To Disrupt Power Supply In Iwo, Bowen University For Seven Hours
Electricity consumers in Iwo and surrounding communities in Osun State will experience a temporary power outage today as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) undertakes scheduled maintenance aimed at improving the reliability of the national transmission network.
TCN announced that routine annual maintenance will be carried out on its 40MVA 132/33kV power transformer at the Iwo Transmission Substation on Thursday, 4 June 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
According to the company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to ensure efficient and reliable transmission of electricity across the network.
As a result of the maintenance work, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to supply power to customers in Iwo Town, Bowen University and Rabbish during the seven-hour period.
TCN apologised to affected customers for the temporary inconvenience and appealed for understanding as it works to strengthen power infrastructure and service delivery.
