FCC Eyes UAE Tech Partnership To Power Digital Reforms, Boost Transparency
In a public sector still wrestling with paper-heavy processes and slow data flows, Nigeria’s Federal Character Commission (FCC) is turning to digital solutions to tighten oversight and improve service delivery.
The Commission has opened talks with a UAE-based investment group on a potential partnership to upgrade its digital systems, a move officials say could strengthen monitoring, improve compliance with the Federal Character principle and enhance transparency across government agencies.
FCC Executive Chairman, Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, received the delegation led by Mr Michael Gale, Founder and Group CEO of Al Liwan Group Limited, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Omidiran said modern technology is now central to effective governance, noting that a stronger digital backbone would help the FCC carry out its constitutional mandate more efficiently.
Gale commended the Commission’s reform drive, saying institutions that embrace modern digital systems are better positioned to deliver measurable results.
He added that the UAE group is keen to explore practical, sustainable areas of collaboration.
The engagement aligns with the FCC’s broader push to modernise operations, deepen accountability and use technology to promote fair and equitable representation across Nigeria’s public sector.
