Delta Police Clamp Down On Crime, Arrest Drug Suspect, Armed Robbers and Cultists

In a clear signal that the era of complacency is over, the Delta State Police Command has intensified its offensive against criminal elements, recording a series of arrests and recoveries that underscore a renewed commitment to public safety across the state.

Barely days after assuming duty, the new Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, has overseen intelligence-led operations that led to the arrest of a suspected cultist and armed robber in Ubeji, where operatives recovered a locally fabricated gun and live cartridges.

The suspect reportedly confessed to membership of the Aye Confraternity, while investigations continue to track other fleeing accomplices.

In a related operation, police raided the illicit drug trade with the arrest of a 43-year-old suspect found in possession of 36 bottles of nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas”, highlighting growing concerns over substance abuse and illegal distribution networks.

The Command also smashed a notorious motorcycle-snatching syndicate in Agbor, arresting two armed robbers allegedly responsible for violent attacks on unsuspecting victims.

Dangerous weapons, including a knife and hammer, were recovered during the operation.

Meanwhile, at Ogwashi-Uku, detectives arrested a 20-year-old murder suspect accused of stabbing his brother to death while he slept, recovering the weapon used in the crime.

Reaffirming his resolve, CP Adesola assured residents that the Command would remain relentless in protecting lives and property through proactive policing and actionable intelligence.
