TCN, Imcomtel Inspect Katsina Substation Ahead Of Major Installation
The installation of two 100MVA power transformers at the Katsina 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation is moving closer, following a joint inspection by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and Imcomtel Engineering Limited.
The inspection, focused on the readiness of the project site for the next major phase of installation.
The TCN Katsina Sub-Region team, led by Assistant General Manager (Transmission), Engr. Usman Idris, received the Imcomtel delegation headed by Engr. Emmanuel Okafor.
The teams assessed ongoing civil works, equipment locations and supporting infrastructure, with particular attention to the plinths for the two 100MVA transformers delivered to the site on July 9.
The transformers are expected to increase transmission capacity in Katsina State and improve electricity supply infrastructure across the North-West.
The inspection also covered four newly delivered control rooms designed to accommodate critical protection, monitoring and control systems.
At the end of the exercise, TCN and Imcomtel agreed on outstanding technical requirements and site preparations to facilitate a smooth transition into the next installation phase.
The inspection team included TCN’s Principal Manager, Engr. Mustapha Idowu, and heads of relevant technical departments.
