MFA Minister Approves New Media Team To Drive Strategic Communication
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is strengthening its media and public diplomacy machinery with the appointment of two communications professionals to the office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye.
The Minister has approved the appointment of Richard Elesho as Special Assistant on Media and Strategic Communications, and Raphael Oni as Special Assistant on Digital and Public Diplomacy.
Elesho, a journalist and former media aide to two former Kogi State governors, Ibrahim Idris and Idris Wada, was until his appointment the North Central Bureau Chief of The News/PM News.
He is a graduate of Delta State University, Abraka, and Kogi State University, Anyigba.
Oni brings more than 15 years of experience in diplomatic reporting, government communication and public diplomacy.
He is the publisher of Diplomats Extra Magazine and a former Secretary-General of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DICAN) and NUJ Correspondents Chapel, Abuja.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Abuja and has worked extensively in diplomatic and international affairs reporting.
The Ministry said the appointments are aimed at strengthening communication of its mandate and the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
