NAWOJ Backs New Police Spokesman, Hails Appointment Of CSP Iniedu As FPRO

A new era of police-media relations may be on the horizon as the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has welcomed the appointment of CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), describing it as a fitting reward for professionalism and dedicated service.

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has congratulated CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu on his appointment as the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

In a statement signed by its National President, Aisha Ibrahim, the association described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of CSP Iniedu’s professionalism, competence and extensive experience in public communication, intelligence management and operational policing.

NAWOJ highlighted his achievements as Head of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he played a key role in strengthening public trust and improving police-citizen relations.

The association expressed confidence that his expertise in strategic communication and public engagement would deepen collaboration between the media and the police, promote transparency and enhance public confidence in security institutions.

NAWOJ also commended the Inspector-General of Police for the appointment and pledged its support towards promoting responsible communication, public enlightenment and national development.
