Easter: Anambra Journalists Demand Justice, Security Amid Rising Hardship

As Nigerians mark Easter under the weight of economic strain and growing insecurity, the League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja has called for renewed hope, justice, and decisive action to protect lives.

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Ikenna Okonkwo, and Secretary, Princess-Ekwi Ajide, the group extended warm greetings to Christians worldwide, describing the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of sacrifice, victory, and new beginnings.

The League noted that beyond celebration, Easter serves as a timely reminder that hope can rise even in difficult times.

It urged Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and faith, while supporting one another, especially the vulnerable.

However, the journalists did not shy away from addressing the nation’s pressing challenges.

They expressed deep concern over persistent insecurity, warning that no society can thrive under the shadow of fear.

The group called on all tiers of government to prioritise the protection of lives and property, stressing that citizens deserve concrete and transparent measures that restore public confidence.

While encouraging Nigerians to remain resilient and law-abiding, the League emphasised that the spirit of Easter should inspire both leaders and citizens to work collectively towards a more just, peaceful, and secure nation.

It added that the season offers a message of restoration, expressing hope that Nigeria will experience healing, unity, and renewed purpose.
