With political momentum building ahead of its 2026 National Convention, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is stepping up efforts to control the narrative and project party unity.

The party has announced a global media briefing scheduled for Thursday, aimed at unveiling its plans and expectations for the convention.

The disclosure was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who serves as Co-Chairman of the Convention’s Media and Publicity Committee, during a meeting in Abuja.

Idris emphasised the importance of coordinated messaging, urging committee members to prioritise unity and discipline in communicating the party’s agenda to Nigerians.

He noted that while the APC remains Africa’s largest political party, it must continue to demonstrate strong internal democratic values, drawing parallels with President Bola Tinubu’s political approach, which he said reflects consistent adherence to due process.

According to him, the March 27-28 convention in Abuja will serve as a critical platform to strengthen the party’s internal structures and reaffirm its democratic credentials.

The meeting brought together key government and party communication figures, including presidential aides and National Assembly spokespersons, signalling the strategic importance attached to the convention.
