Crashes Force Urgent Action As FRSC Deploys Tactical Team To Abuja’s AYA-Nyanya Corridor
Repeated road crashes along Abuja’s busy AYA-Nyanya corridor have once again exposed the dangers lurking on one of the capital’s most congested routes, prompting swift intervention from authorities.
In response, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has ordered the immediate deployment of a high-level tactical team to the axis to tackle the rising incidents head-on.
The team, led by Assistant Corps Marshal (Operations), Olusegun Ogungbemide, is tasked with conducting an on-the-spot assessment to uncover the root causes of the crashes and recommend practical, evidence-based solutions.
The move signals a shift towards proactive and intelligence-driven road safety management, with the FRSC focusing on preventing accidents rather than reacting after lives have been lost.
Describing the AYA-Nyanya road as a critical gateway into the Federal Capital Territory, the Corps stressed its zero-tolerance stance on avoidable crashes, vowing to strengthen enforcement and eliminate identified risks.
The intervention also aligns with the ongoing Eid-el-Fitr Special Patrol, aimed at ensuring smoother traffic flow and safer journeys during the festive period.
While assuring the public of continued vigilance, the Corps Marshal urged motorists, commuters, and pedestrians to comply with traffic rules and cooperate fully with officials on the ground.
