NCDMB Seals Radisson Deal For 204-Room Yenagoa Hotel, Set To Open December 2026
In a bold move to redefine Bayelsa’s hospitality and conference landscape, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has sealed an international management agreement that will see a world-class Radisson hotel rise beside the iconic Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa.
The agreement, signed in Durban, South Africa, brings together the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Radisson Hospitality Belgium and Edison Hotel and Property Development Company to manage the Board’s 204-room hotel and conference centre in Swali, Yenagoa.
The facility, scheduled to open in December 2026, is strategically positioned to serve oil and gas stakeholders and the wider public, reinforcing Bayelsa State’s status as a critical hub in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, revealed that negotiations, compliance reviews and stakeholder consultations lasted over two years.
He confirmed that key approvals, including that of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, were secured to ensure the agreement meets Nigeria’s legal and regulatory standards.
Ogbe pledged the Board’s commitment to delivering a world-class facility, assuring that construction quality, funding, safety compliance and adherence to Radisson’s global benchmarks would not be compromised.
On its part, Edison Corporation described its role as a bridge between owner and operator, promising disciplined management, transparency and performance oversight.
The firm expressed confidence that, working closely with Radisson, the hotel would become Bayelsa’s leading hospitality and conference destination and a catalyst for investment.
The Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre, Yenagoa, when completed, is expected to symbolise strategic partnerships, local content advancement and Nigeria’s ambition to attract global-standard investments beyond the oil fields.
