At a time when regional cooperation is becoming critical to tackling insecurity, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has strengthened strategic ties with the Taraba State Government to boost safety and stability in the state.

IGP Egbetokun on Thursday received Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration in addressing emerging security challenges.

Governor Kefas, who led a high-powered delegation including senators and members of the House of Representatives, praised the Nigeria Police Force for its role in restoring calm in Karim Lamido, recently declared a special security concern by the state government.

He assured the IGP of increased logistical support to enhance police operations and frontline effectiveness.

In his response, the IGP described the visit as a significant step towards deepening intelligence-led and community-focused policing in Taraba State.

He pledged sustained deployment of resources and personnel, with particular attention on stabilising Karim Lamido and protecting lives and property across the state.

The engagement signals a renewed push for federal-state synergy as authorities work to restore public confidence and strengthen security at the grassroots.
