APGA Chairman Marks Birthday With Charity, Pontifical Mass In Awka

In a political climate often dominated by power and protocol, moments of personal celebration can also become platforms for compassion and service.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, marked his birthday in Awka, Anambra State, with a blend of charity and thanksgiving, turning the occasion into a statement of faith and social responsibility.

To begin the celebration, Ezeokenwa visited three orphanage and special needs centres in the Awka metropolis, Model Community Children’s Home, Faith Community Children’s Home and God’s Care School for Special Needs, where he donated gift items, encouraged the children and caregivers, and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society.

The day culminated in a Pontifical Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish, Awka, presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, alongside senior clergy and over fifteen concelebrating priests.

In his homily, Bishop Ezeokafor praised the APGA Chairman for his service-driven leadership and charitable spirit, urging leaders to embrace generosity and commitment to the common good.

Party faithful, community leaders and beneficiaries of the outreach joined in celebrating what many described as a birthday defined by humility, faith and compassion — values closely aligned with APGA’s ideals of inclusive development.
