When philanthropy meets faith, it can become a powerful engine of economic dignity.

That truth came alive in Awka-Etiti, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, where lives were transformed in one night through the generosity of entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mr Lucky Chinedu Adimike.

At a colourful Faithspiration Initiative Night of Praise, Worship and Empowerment held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mr Adimike empowered 45 beneficiaries with ₦1 million each through the Lucky Adimike Foundation, totalling ₦45 million aimed at boosting small businesses and livelihoods.

The programme received further support when the member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, donated an additional ₦5 million, creating opportunities for five more beneficiaries.

Clergy, led by Rev. Fr. Barrister Johnbosco Igwe and Rev. Fr. Joshua Obiekezie, prayed for the beneficiaries, while gospel artists and comedians added colour to the evening.

In a thought-provoking sermon titled “Six Allegations Against Christianity in Igboland,” Rev. Fr. Igwe argued that Christianity refined, rather than destroyed, Igbo culture, warning youths against blaming faith for societal failures or returning to abandoned idol worship.

Community leaders, including Hon. Ebuka Igwe, Mrs Amaka Obi and Mr Emeka Ezeoke, praised Mr Adimike for consistent investment in human capital and hailed the Faithspiration Initiative as a vital platform for youth development.

While presenting the funds, Mr Adimike urged beneficiaries to invest wisely, save from their profits and avoid using the money to settle debts.

He also paid tribute to Very Rev. Fr. Dr George Adimike for his leadership and commitment to community upliftment.

The night ended on a celebratory note with gifts presented to both men in recognition of their impact on Awka-Etiti and beyond, a reminder that when generosity meets purpose, communities rise together.
