ABS MD/CEO Rings In 2026 With Message Of Rebirth, Reawakening and Renewed Hope

As organisations across Nigeria set fresh agendas for the New Year, leadership vision has once again taken centre stage.

At the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), 2026 has been welcomed not merely as a new calendar year, but as a defining moment of transformation, renewal and collective purpose.

In a heartfelt New Year message to staff, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Mr Molokwu Christopher, praised employees for their resilience and dedication, describing them as the driving force behind the station’s relevance and impact in Anambra State.

Reflecting on 2025, the ABS boss noted that the outgoing year closed with remarkable milestones for Anambra, including political stability, notable growth and sustained peace.

He commended ABS staff for playing a pivotal role in amplifying these achievements, stressing that the station remained the “heartbeat of progress” by informing, inspiring and uniting the people.

Looking ahead, Mr Molokwu declared 2026 a year of “rebirth and reawakening” for the organisation.

He acknowledged that ABS has experienced waves of transformation, some of them disruptive, but insisted that change was both inevitable and necessary for growth in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

According to him, the New Year demands courage to let go of limitations, embrace innovation and reposition ABS for greater efficiency and influence.

He assured staff that ongoing reforms are aimed at building a leaner, stronger and more competitive broadcasting institution capable of producing compelling content that resonates locally and nationally.

The MD/CEO also addressed concerns about resistance to change, urging staff to remain steadfast and focused.

He emphasised that resilience, teamwork and belief in a shared vision would propel ABS to new heights, with the potential to become Nigeria’s leading state-owned media organisation.

Mr Molokwu expressed profound gratitude to reporters, cameramen, editors, producers, presenters, technicians and other behind-the-scenes staff, describing them as unsung heroes whose commitment continues to define the station’s success.

He concluded by calling on all employees to step into 2026 united, energised and hopeful, ready to harness the endless possibilities of a reawakened ABS.
