At a time when Nigerians are anxious for stability and clear direction, the Federal Government says it is deliberately laying the groundwork for security, economic recovery and long-term national renewal.

Speaking on Friday night in Abuja, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is taking tough but necessary decisions to stabilise the economy, strengthen national security and position the country for sustainable growth.

He addressed leaders and members of All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups during a dinner at the NAF Conference Centre.

Mr Idris noted that early indicators from the government’s reform agenda are encouraging, citing improved investor confidence, rising oil production, better revenue performance and targeted interventions for states, businesses and vulnerable Nigerians.

He stressed that transparent communication remains key, adding that citizens must clearly understand reforms to build trust and a shared national purpose.

The Minister also highlighted the 2026 budget proposal of N58.18 trillion presented by President Tinubu to the National Assembly, with priority given to security, infrastructure, education and health.

According to him, national security will remain a major focus, with plans to modernise the armed forces, enhance intelligence-led policing, strengthen border security and deploy technology-driven surveillance.

Describing APC support groups as vital partners beyond election periods, Mr Idris urged them to help counter misinformation, defend facts and explain government policies to Nigerians, particularly the “Budget of Consolidation, Renewed Resilience and Shared Prosperity.”

He called for unity and renewed commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring party faithful that their efforts are recognised and valued.
