Nigerian Armed Forces Record Major Wins Against Terrorists, Kidnappers and Criminals Nationwide
The Nigerian military has reported significant operational successes across the country, reinforcing its commitment to safeguarding citizens and restoring stability in conflict-prone regions.
In a weekly briefing covering 3-12 December 2025, the Defence Headquarters detailed coordinated operations by Joint Task Forces in the North East, North West, North Central, South-South, and South East.
Troops successfully neutralised terrorists, insurgents, and kidnappers, rescued dozens of abducted victims, and recovered large caches of arms, ammunition, vehicles, and illicit commodities.
In the North East, Operation HADIN KAI saw ground forces, supported by air reconnaissance, dismantle Boko Haram, ISWAP, and JAS networks, rescuing 15 kidnapped victims and arresting 22 collaborators.
Similar victories were recorded in the North West and North Central regions, with several terrorists and kidnappers neutralised or apprehended, while kidnapped citizens were reunited with their families.
In the South-South, troops disrupted oil theft operations worth over ₦15.6 million, destroyed seven illegal refining sites, and arrested 68 suspects, while South East operations led to the rescue of 15 kidnapped victims and the seizure of illegal weapons and tools. Notably, a suspected IPOB/ESN criminal weapons workshop in Anambra State was raided, and 11 illegal immigrants were handed over to the Nigerian Immigration Service.
Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, praised the professionalism and resilience of the troops, reiterating the Armed Forces’ unwavering dedication to denying criminals freedom of action and ensuring a secure environment for Nigerians across the nation.
