In a move that underscores his administration’s commitment to inclusive education, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has approved the establishment of 30 new public schools across various Anambra communities.

The approval, announced by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, followed the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday. Dr Mefor said the initiative targets communities currently without public schools, aligning with Soludo’s vision of ensuring that every child in Anambra has access to quality, free education close to home.

He described the development as part of the governor’s “Solution Government” strategy to bridge educational gaps and strengthen the state’s human capital base.

At the same meeting, the Council adopted the 2026-2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), setting the stage for the timely presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly.

The Council also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the credible conduct of the November 8 governorship election, which saw Governor Soludo re-elected with 73 per cent of the votes across all 21 local government areas.

Council members pledged continued dedication to public service and lauded the people of Anambra for their peaceful conduct during and after the polls.
