Governor Soludo Mourns Slain Arise TV Anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu

Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of Arise TV anchor, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, during an armed robbery at her Abuja residence on 29 September.

In a condolence message, Soludo described the 29-year-old as “a shining star whose light was cruelly extinguished in her prime.”

He praised her as a lawyer-turned-journalist whose professionalism and passion embodied the excellence for which Anambra indigenes are known.

The Governor said her death was not only a devastating loss to her family but also to Anambra State, the journalism profession, and Nigeria as a whole.

He called the attack “deeply disturbing and unacceptable,” urging the police to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice.

Soludo extended heartfelt condolences to Maduagwu’s family, colleagues, and loved ones, praying for strength and comfort in their grief.
