Turning 100 is a rare blessing, but ruling for over six decades with dignity and influence is even rarer.
Such is the legacy of His Royal Majesty, Dr. Kenneth Onyeneke Nnaji Orizu III, the revered Igwe of Nnewi, who has just marked his centenary amid glowing tributes from leaders and citizens alike.
Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, led the tributes with a heartfelt message celebrating the Monarch’s century of life and leadership.
In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime, the Governor described Igwe Orizu III’s milestone as “a divine testimony of grace, resilience, and service.”
“For over six decades, His Royal Majesty has stood as a pillar of stability and a beacon of wisdom, uniting his people through peace and progress,” Soludo said. “His reign reflects uncommon leadership, integrity, and compassion.”
The Governor lauded the Monarch’s enduring commitment to community development, noting that under his reign, Nnewi has flourished as a hub of enterprise, innovation, and cultural pride.
He further extolled Igwe Orizu’s contributions beyond the town, highlighting his role in promoting harmony and national unity. “The Igwe’s influence transcends borders.
His guidance and foresight have inspired generations across Nigeria,” Soludo added.
The Governor also recalled the Monarch’s national recognitions, Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and Justice of the Peace (JP), as fitting honours for a leader whose impact has been both moral and developmental.
Wishing the centenarian continued good health and divine strength, Soludo prayed that Igwe Orizu III would “continue to inspire peace, prosperity, and progress in Nnewi, Anambra State, and Nigeria at large.”
