Information Ministry Reaffirms Commitment To Citizen-Centred Service Delivery
In a continued drive to improve government-citizen relations and strengthen accountability in public institutions, the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has reaffirmed its commitment to citizen-centred service delivery during the 2025 SERVICOM Customer Service Week celebration in Abuja.
At the event, themed “Mission Possible,” the Permanent Secretary, Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam, who represented the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, inaugurated the Ministry’s SERVICOM Committee and underscored the importance of empathy, integrity, and teamwork in achieving effective public service.
He noted that too often, citizens leave government offices feeling unheard or dissatisfied, stressing that SERVICOM was established to change that narrative. “It is not just a slogan,” he said, “but a solemn promise that every Nigerian deserves quality service and respect in every engagement with government.”
In her remarks, the Ministry’s SERVICOM Nodal Officer, Mrs Amta Ode, commended the Minister’s steadfast support and described the celebration as an opportunity to reflect on progress, celebrate milestones, and renew commitment to service excellence.
Also speaking, the representative of the National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mr Onche Olotu, urged newly inaugurated committee members to uphold sincerity of purpose and allow conscience and compassion to guide their decisions, noting that true service delivery “must come from the heart.”
The event also featured the presentation of awards to staff who demonstrated outstanding commitment to quality service delivery, while participants from various departments and agencies reaffirmed their shared vision for a transparent and citizen-focused public service.
