US Donates $32.5m To WFP To Tackle Hunger In Nigeria’s Conflict Zones

The United States Government has committed $32.5 million to support the World Food Programme (WFP) in delivering food and nutrition aid to vulnerable communities in Nigeria’s conflict-affected regions.

With this funding, 764,205 people across the North-East and North-West will receive food assistance, while 41,569 pregnant and breastfeeding women and girls and 43,235 children will benefit from complementary nutrition top-ups through electronic food vouchers.

The intervention comes as millions continue to face hunger and malnutrition due to ongoing conflict and insecurity in Nigeria.
