Transcorp Hilton Abuja Strengthens Ties With NUJ-FCT, Pays Courtesy Visit

In a bid to deepen collaboration, a high-level team from Transcorp Hilton Abuja paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, on Friday, 1st August 2025.

Leading the delegation was the hotel’s Commercial Director, Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi, accompanied by E-Commerce Manager, Ijeoma Osuji both trailblazing as the first women to occupy their respective roles at the luxury hotel.

The delegation was received by NUJ-FCT Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, in a meeting marked by warm exchanges and mutual appreciation.

Ike commended Transcorp Hilton for its consistent support, especially during the 2025 Press Week Public Lecture, describing the hotel as “a true media ally in promoting development.”

She also called for the revival of Hilton’s annual cocktail for journalists, saying: “Reporters and editors need that end-of-year moment to unwind and connect. We hope to see that tradition return.”

In her remarks, Aguiyi-Ironsi highlighted the importance of the media in national development and reaffirmed the hotel’s commitment to its partnership with the NUJ. “We are here to say thank you.

The media gives us visibility, and we consider you key partners in progress,” she said.

Osuji echoed the sentiment, noting that Transcorp Hilton’s continued relevance and recognition, including NUJ’s Hospitality Award, would not be possible without strong media backing.

The visit was attended by key members of the NUJ-FCT Executive, including Vice Chairman Comrade Yahaya Ndambabo, Secretary Comrade Jide Oyekunle, and other council officers.
