Nigeria Felicitates With Benin Republic On Independence Anniversary
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his Beninese counterpart, Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, as the Republic of Benin marks its Independence Anniversary.
Describing Benin as a close neighbour and trusted partner, Ambassador Tuggar praised the enduring bond between both countries, which he said is built on deep historical, cultural, and economic ties.
He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and regional cooperation, especially within the framework of ECOWAS.
“Nigeria celebrates the progress and resilience of the Government and people of Benin.
We stand in solidarity with them and look forward to deepening our shared aspirations for peace, prosperity and democratic growth across West Africa,” the Minister stated.
The message, signed by the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, also acknowledged Benin’s contributions to regional integration and its commitment to good governance.
