FRSC Gets Major Leadership Boost As SGF Approves Promotion Of 100 Senior Officers
In a significant shake-up aimed at bolstering road safety efforts across Nigeria, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has approved the promotion of 100 senior officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), including 51 new Corps Commanders and 49 Deputy Corps Commanders.
The promotions, endorsed on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, mark a major milestone in the Corps’ drive for professional excellence and effective leadership.
Speaking on the development, the SGF applauded the FRSC for ensuring a transparent and merit-based exercise, urging the newly promoted officers to recommit themselves to the Corps’ mission of reducing road traffic crashes and ensuring safer highways nationwide.
“This exercise reflects the Tinubu administration’s dedication to rewarding diligence and excellence,” Akume said, encouraging the officers to approach their new roles with renewed dedication and integrity.
Congratulating the officers, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed praised their hard work and commitment to service, noting that the promotions were well deserved.
He reminded them that “with greater rank comes greater responsibility,” and challenged them to uphold the Corps’ values of discipline, service, and professionalism.
The Corps Marshal also had words of encouragement for those who were not elevated in this round, urging them to remain committed and promising that future opportunities would recognise their efforts.
He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to staff welfare and called on all personnel to stay focused on delivering on the FRSC’s core mandate of road safety, traffic management, and saving lives.
