Hon. Joshua Obika Empowers AMAC/Bwari Residents With Vocational Tools
In a heartening display of grassroots development, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, Member of the House of Representatives for AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, has empowered dozens of constituents with essential vocational tools.
The empowerment scheme, delivered in collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), saw randomly selected beneficiaries irrespective of political affiliation—receive equipment such as air pumping machines, shoe filling machines, and welding machines.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Obika described the programme as part of his long-term vision to foster self-reliance and skill transfer within communities. He noted that each recipient is expected to train others, creating a ripple effect of empowerment across the constituency.
“This isn’t a one-off,” he assured. “Those trained by today’s beneficiaries will also be supported in future rounds of empowerment. We’re building a chain of skills and support.”
The NBTE praised the initiative as a “giant stride” towards sustainable development, commending Hon. Obika’s dedication to the well-being of his people.
Grateful beneficiaries described the gesture as timely and inclusive, expressing commitment to making good use of the tools and mentoring others in their communities.
The programme also included cash support to help kick-start small-scale enterprises—yet another step in Hon. Obika’s mission to uplift the AMAC/Bwari constituency through practical and people-focused leadership.
