Tribute Night For APGA Chairman’s Late Father Draws Dignitaries To Onitsha

Onitsha, Anambra State — The serene evening air in Fegge, Onitsha, was filled with emotion and reverence on Saturday, 12th July 2025, as a host of dignitaries and well-wishers gathered to honour the life and legacy of the late Chief Sylvester Anyarue Chukwuma Ezeokenwa (Ezeudo) father of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa.

Held at the Housing Estate, Fegge, the Night of Tribute and Christian Wake was a deeply moving affair, marked by heartfelt prayers, scripture readings, soulful music, and candlelight reflections that captured the spirit of a man remembered for his humility, integrity, and quiet wisdom.

Representing Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, described the late Ezeudo as “a man of peace and discipline whose values live on through his son and countless others he inspired.”

“His legacy of uprightness, truth, and service mirrors what we strive to build in Anambra today,” Dr. Ibezim noted.

The gathering saw a strong showing of political, religious, and business leaders. Among them were the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze; APGA State Chairman, Chief Barr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye; Hon. Paschal Agbodike; Hon. Patrick Agha Mba; members of APGA’s National and State Working Committees; and numerous party supporters from across Nigeria.

In a touching vote of thanks, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa expressed deep gratitude to all who joined the family in honouring his late father:

“My father lived for truth and justice, and your presence tonight reminds us just how many lives he touched.”

As final rites continue, the evening served not just as a farewell, but a celebration of a life well lived — and a quiet reminder of the enduring power of values, service, and community.
