NAF Pounds Boko Haram Strongholds, Dismantles Logistics Hubs In Borno Airstrikes
In a decisive and calculated offensive, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has struck a heavy blow against Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State, dismantling key logistics hubs and neutralising scores of terrorists in the process.
The coordinated airstrikes, carried out on 6th July 2025 under Operation HADIN KAI, targeted high-value enclaves in the notorious Mandara Mountains, a region that straddles Nigeria’s border with Cameroon and has long served as a haven for militants of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, the mission was prompted by intelligence gathered through surveillance flights, which identified terrorist compounds in the Wa Jahode and Loghpere areas.
These hideouts, bristling with solar-powered infrastructure, black JAS flags, and fortified camps, were reportedly bustling with activity, including the movement of supplies and the presence of top commanders.
“Precision air strikes were launched to dismantle these structures, which served as command centres, logistics depots and operational staging grounds for the terrorists,” Ejodame confirmed.
The strikes not only obliterated key insurgent facilities but also disrupted a growing logistics chain believed to be fuelling renewed attacks across the region.
A significant number of fighters were neutralised in the operation, dealing a major setback to the group’s operational capacity.
This latest offensive underscores the Air Force’s commitment to choking off terrorist networks and restoring stability to Nigeria’s North-East.
Security analysts say the success of this mission demonstrates the increasing accuracy of NAF’s air operations and the critical role of real-time intelligence in combating insurgency.
With continued pressure on remaining terrorist cells, military authorities reaffirm their resolve to pursue all threats to peace and security across the country.
