NAF Veterans’ Parley: CAS Pays Tribute To Courage, Sacrifice Of Retired Airmen

In a stirring show of appreciation and unity, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Saturday, 5th July 2025, held a nationwide Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Veterans’ Parley—bringing together retired personnel across the country in an emotional reconnection with their service roots.

The simultaneous gatherings, held at various NAF Commands and units from Kaduna to Calabar, and Port Harcourt to Kano, marked a milestone in the leadership of Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, who has prioritised people, professionalism, and legacy in his transformation agenda.

Describing the event as “a national call to remembrance, reflection, and reconnection,” Air Marshal Abubakar, in a special address, praised the veterans as “living embodiments of courage and commitment.”

He assured them of continued efforts to improve post-service welfare, including better healthcare access and support for reintegration.

For many, the parley was more than a ceremonial nod—it was a moment of heartfelt recognition. Retired Master Warrant Officer Apreala Edmund, speaking in Bayelsa, said, “We never asked for thanks, but today, we feel seen.”

In Kano, another veteran called it “a humbling reminder of the legacy we once risked everything for.”

The event was filled with tributes, emotional reflections on past missions, and open discussions about the challenges of life after service.

It underscored the NAF’s commitment to keeping its veterans close—not just in memory, but in meaningful engagement.

By honouring its heroes past and present, the Nigerian Air Force continues to build a future rooted in gratitude, unity, and purpose.
