Terror Kingpin Yellow Danbokkolo Falls In Fierce Shootout With Troops
In a major breakthrough for Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, troops of Operation FASAN YAMA have eliminated the notorious terrorist kingpin Yellow Danbokkolo, who succumbed to gunshot wounds following a fierce gun battle last week in Eastern Sokoto.
According to a statement by Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, Danbokkolo was critically injured during an intelligence-led operation jointly carried out by ground troops, hybrid forces, air components, and other security agencies.
He later died from the wounds sustained in the encounter.
Feared more than even the infamous Bello Turji, Yellow Danbokkolo was believed to be the mastermind behind several gruesome attacks, including the December 2021 massacre in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where travellers were burnt alive.
Known for his ruthless reign of terror, Danbokkolo reportedly relied on regular doses of pentazocine, a powerful painkiller, to fuel his violent operations.
With his death, the military says it has renewed its focus on tracking down Bello Turji and dismantling all remnants of terrorist networks across the region.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria remains committed to restoring peace and normalcy to every corner of the country,” the statement read, urging citizens to support ongoing security efforts through timely information sharing.
