NPF Bows To Public Pressure, Extends Tinted Glass Permit Grace Period

The Nigeria Police Force has extended the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to 12th August 2025, following widespread public feedback on the reactivation of its digital application system.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, approved the extension to give room for ongoing improvements to the process and ensure that citizens are not unduly inconvenienced.

According to a statement by Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the move aligns with the NPF’s goal of creating a more transparent, accessible, and citizen-focused system. “We’re listening to Nigerians,” the statement read, “and your concerns are guiding these updates.”

The Police said efforts are underway to simplify both online and physical application options, introducing more secure and efficient systems while reducing delays.

Citizens are reminded to use the official platform — www.possap.gov.ng — for all Tinted Glass Permit applications and renewals. Any reports of hidden charges or extortion during the process can be directed to the Force via the hotline 09169967000.

The NPF reaffirmed its commitment to digital innovation and service delivery, thanking Nigerians for their patience as reforms continue.
