Anambra 2025: Journalists’ Group Urges Voters to Prioritise Proven Leadership
As the Anambra 2025 governorship race gathers steam, the League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja (LAJA) has called on Ndi Anambra to vote wisely by backing political parties with a credible track record of development.
In a statement signed by LAJA President, Ikenna Okonkwo, and Secretary, Princess-Ekwi Ajide, the group urged the electorate to go beyond campaign rhetoric and instead support candidates with demonstrated commitment to the socio-economic progress of the state.
“This is a critical moment in our democratic journey,” the statement read. “We must not mortgage the future of our state on the altar of sentiment or political patronage.”
LAJA emphasised the need for visionary, accountable leadership with the capacity to deliver across key sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment, and security.
The group further encouraged Anambra citizens, both at home and in the diaspora, to be active participants in shaping the state’s future through informed voting.
“Democracy thrives when the people make intentional, well-considered electoral choices. LAJA remains committed to promoting good governance, transparency, and a political culture anchored on collective progress,” the statement concluded.
