Minister Idris Debunks London Briefing Claims, Others Reel Success Stories At 8th Ministerial Briefing

In an era where misinformation travels faster than facts, Nigeria’s federal government is reclaiming the narrative.

From quashing false reports about press briefings abroad to unveiling real strides in infrastructural development, economic and cultural reforms as ministers take the podium to assert transparency, progress, and national pride.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, in his opening remarks at the eighth Ministerial press Briefing in Abuja denied rumours suggesting the relocation of ministerial press briefings to London, asserting that government accountability remains rooted in the heart of Abuja.

The Minister noted that the responsibility of the present administration is first to the Nigerian nation adding that the session continues to serve as a local platform for government ministers to engage citizens and the media directly.

Backing this stance, the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi who was wrongly reported to be part of a supposed London-based unveiling described the claim as false, aligning with Idris’ firm rebuttal.

Shedding lights on the activities of his ministry, Umahi disclosed the resolve to use local based construction forms in the construction and reconstruction works in the country

The Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, used the session to highlight Nigeria’s unprecedented push to industrialise its cultural sector.

She revealed the Ministry’s ongoing nationwide mapping project, a move she said is to to lay the groundwork for data-driven investments in the creative economy.

The Minister of water resources and sanitation, Prof. Joseph Utsev, said his ministry is working assiduously to end the problem of public defecation in Nigeria.
