Ignore The Rumours INEC Tells Citizens Says Yet To Announce Date For Resumption Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked claims circulating online that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and related services will resume on 27th May 2025.
In a statement issued on Sunday, 4th May 2025, the Chief Press Secretary to INEC’s Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, made it clear that no official date has been set for the resumption of CVR, transfer, or replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Describing the viral message as fake and anonymous, the Commission urged members of the public to disregard it entirely.
INEC reassured Nigerians that, in keeping with its standard practice, a formal announcement will be made through official channels including verified social media platforms once a date is decided.
The Commission encourages citizens to stay informed and only rely on credible sources for electoral updates until such time.
