Edo Governor, Okpebholo Signs Bill To Establish New College Of Nursing

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has signed into law the bill to establish the Edo State College of Nursing, Health Sciences, and Technology.
At the signing ceremony in Government House, Benin City, the Governor highlighted that the new institution will spur growth, create jobs, and enhance development in the region.
He also praised the strong collaboration between the state’s legislative and executive arms, stressing that such unity is key to Edo’s progress.
Governor Okpebholo said: “This bill represents a dream realised for the Udomi community, who have long advocated for such a development. The cooperation between the Legislative House and the Executive is crucial, and together, we will improve the lives of Edo people.”
The new law, titled Edo State College of Nursing, Health Sciences and Technology Law, Udomi, 2025, aims to establish a world-class institution that will put Edo State on the map and bring development to surrounding areas like Uwessan.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State Governor, Fred Itua, said the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, commended the Governor for his commitment to progress.
