NAF, Nigerian Army Partner To Boost Aviation Fuel Handling Expertise

In a major step towards enhancing inter-service cooperation and strengthening joint operational efficiency, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a groundbreaking training initiative for the Nigerian Army Aviation personnel.

The maiden Aviation Fuel Handling and Administration Course organised by the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), was inaugurated to equip Nigerian Army personnel with vital technical skills in aviation fuel management.

The training covers critical areas such as Aviation Bulk Fuel Installation management, aircraft refueling procedures, fuel quality control, and operation of bowsers, all aimed at boosting the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army Aviation.

The initiative reflects the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, who continues to champion mission-driven training as the bedrock of military efficiency.

He noted that the initiative demonstrates NAF’s commitment to building a professionally competent force capable of supporting joint military operations and safeguarding national security.

“This course is more than just a technical programme,” the Chief of the Air Staff said. “It’s a deliberate step towards creating a robust logistics support system and a symbol of synergy between the services.”

The partnership sets a new standard for collaboration between Nigeria’s military services and underlines the strategic role of AFIT in advancing technical excellence within the country’s defense and aviation sectors.

With this first-of-its-kind collaboration, the NAF and Nigerian Army are not just fueling aircraft but fueling a future of stronger, smarter, and more unified armed forces.
