Troops Sustain Onslaught Against Terrorists, Oil Thieves, and Criminal Gangs Nationwide

The Nigerian Armed Forces have intensified the heat on terrorists, oil thieves, and criminal elements across the country in a sweeping wave of operations that yielded major breakthroughs between April 17 and 25, 2025.
From the creeks of the Niger Delta to the forests of the North East, troops neutralised scores of terrorists, arrested over 100 suspects including bandits, kidnappers, and oil thieves and rescued dozens of kidnapped victims.
In the anti-crude oil theft operations, troops of Operation DELTA SAFE thwarted theft worth over N94 million, destroying over 35 illegal refineries and seizing thousands of litres of stolen products.
In Borno and Yobe States, relentless raids and patrols under Operation HADIN KAI led to the surrender of ISWAP and Boko Haram fighters, the rescue of 14 hostages, and the arrest of terrorist collaborators.
Troops in the North West and North Central also struck hard.
Operation FASAN YAMMA forces neutralised insurgents across Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina states, rescued 10 kidnap victims, and seized over N8 million suspected to be ransom money.
Operation SAFE HAVEN and Operation WHIRL STROKE recorded similar gains, dismantling terrorist hideouts, seizing weapons, and rescuing more victims.
In the South East, troops of Operation UDO KA rescued hostages and dismantled insurgent cells in Imo, Enugu, Anambra, and Ebonyi states.
The Director Defence Media Operations Major General Markus Kangye, described this week’s results as “commendable,” while urging citizens to support military efforts with credible information.
According to him, the Armed Forces remain focused, resolute, and ready to protect Nigeria with one operation at a time.
