Easter: NUJ FCT Chair Urges Journalists To Uphold Hope, Integrity
As Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has called on journalists to embody the true spirit of Easter; hope, sacrifice, and renewal.
In a heartfelt Easter message, NUJ FCT Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, encouraged media professionals to reflect on the season’s deeper meaning and draw strength from its message of victory over adversity.
“This season reminds us that, no matter the challenges, hope endures,” she said. “Easter is a powerful symbol of faith and triumph values we must uphold as journalists and citizens.”
She urged journalists to remain committed to truth, justice, and national unity while maintaining the highest ethical standards in their work.
The NUJ Chairman also emphasised the importance of personal safety, especially in challenging environments.
“Let us continue to serve as the conscience of society, even as we face economic and social hurdles,” Comrade Ike added.
The NUJ FCT Council, through its Secretary, Jide Oyekunle, also wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, reaffirming its dedication to journalists’ welfare and professional growth.
