NUJ FCT Chair Grace Ike Bags Prestigious African Leadership Excellence Award
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has been honoured with the African Leadership Excellence Award at the 2025 edition of the African Legendary Awards (AFRILA) held in Abuja.
Grace Ike, a seasoned broadcast journalist with over 17 years of experience, was celebrated for her exceptional leadership, humanitarian impact, and dedication to transforming journalism in the FCT.
She is also the first female to lead the NUJ FCT Council in its 41-year history.
Represented at the event by the editor of the NUJ FCT online platform, Ebriku John Friday, Ike’s leadership was praised for prioritising journalists’ welfare, promoting inclusivity, and driving impactful change within the union.
In her message of appreciation, Ike dedicated the award to God and the members of NUJ FCT Council for their steadfast support.
She urged journalists to remain committed to ethical standards and strive for balanced, responsible reporting.
Ike currently serves with the Advocate Broadcasting Network (ADBN) in Abuja, where she continues to make her mark in the media industry.
