SWAN Hails Tinubu As A Champion Of Sports On 73rd Birthday
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has extended warm congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, commending his unwavering commitment to sports development in the country.
In a statement, SWAN President Isaiah Benjamin, through Secretary-General Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, praised Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a fearless patriot whose influence has shaped Nigerian sports over the years.
“From his time as Lagos State Governor, where he championed talent discovery, to his current efforts as President such as reviving the National Sports Commission (NSC) and increasing the sports budget, Tinubu has shown true dedication to youth and sports development,” the statement read.
SWAN expressed optimism about the future of Nigerian sports under Tinubu’s leadership and assured him of the media’s continuous support in promoting and enhancing the industry.
