FG Launches Electric Vehicle Charging Station In Abuja

The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken a bold step towards sustainable transportation with the launch of an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station in Abuja.

The Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, praised the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) and Electric Motor Vehicle Company (EMVC) for their partnership, calling it a game-changer for clean energy adoption.

“This marks a major leap in reducing fossil fuel dependence and fostering green innovation under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Nnaji stated.

He commended ECN’s Director General, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, for championing clean energy initiatives and urged stakeholders to scale up electric mobility nationwide.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to innovation-driven policies, and expressed optimism that Nigeria is on track to becoming a leader in sustainable transportation.
