In the wake of rising security concerns, in Anambra State, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has assured residents of the command’s unwavering commitment to justice and public safety.

On February 19, 2025, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, led a delegation of lawmakers and political party leaders to the Police Headquarters in Awka for high-level discussions on the state’s security situation.

During the meeting, CP Orutugu called for calm and reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to apprehending the fleeing suspects linked to a recent security incident.

He also disclosed that disciplinary actions have been initiated against officers involved in the regrettable development.

The gathering, which included top lawmakers and political stakeholders, was a demonstration of unity in ensuring that security forces remain accountable while protecting lives and property.

As a mark of respect, the meeting ended with a one-minute silence in honor of the late Honourable Justice Azuka.

The Anambra State Police Command continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and trust in ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.
