Police Nab Murder Suspect, Foil Traffic Robberies In Lagos

The Nigeria Police Force has in a series of successful operations, made significant arrests in Lagos, cracking down on criminals and ensuring public safety.

Officers from the Satellite Division arrested 24-year-old Wisdom Obi, during a routine patrol at Abule Ado bus stop along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

Obi, who was riding an unregistered motorcycle, was found with a concealed brownie pistol and 13 rounds of live ammunition hidden inside an MP3 radio.

The suspect is currently in custody, with investigations ongoing.

The Orile Iganmu Division, on the other hand, intercepted four suspected traffic robbers—Kadir Ibrahim, Ifeanyi John, Oduwole Shola, and Rilwan Olajuwon—attempting to rob stranded passengers near Ascon White Sand.

The police, urged residents to stay alert, warning that criminals often disguise themselves as traders in traffic jams.

In a separate incident, a violent altercation at Falomo Square, Ikoyi, led to the death of a man identified as William Wisdom.

His alleged attacker, Okeke Johnchris, reportedly rammed a Lexus saloon car into him following a heated argument.

William was rushed to Gbagada General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Okeke has been arrested and will face prosecution.

The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its commitment to public safety and cautioned citizens against resorting to violence, urging legal means for conflict resolution.
