Nigeria and the Kingdom of Bahrain have officially established diplomatic relations following a high-level meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and his Bahraini counterpart, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, in Manama.
During the discussions, both ministers explored ways to deepen bilateral ties, particularly in trade, foreign investment, and cooperation in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on onshore projects and Nigeria’s 8th train LNG development.
They also deliberated on training Nigerian diplomats and enhancing collaboration in multilateral forums.
The meeting according to a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Communication Strategy, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alkasim Abdulkadir, culminated in the signing of a Joint Communiqué, marking a major milestone in diplomatic relations between the two nations.
This move aligns with Bahrain’s broader efforts to strengthen international partnerships, as seen in its recent initiatives on global collaboration.
This new partnership is expected to unlock economic opportunities for both nations while fostering stronger diplomatic engagements on the global stage.
