Hon. Kabiru Amadu Confident Super Eagles Will Clinch 2025 AFCON Title

The Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu, has expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to win the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Speaking on NTA AM Sports, Hon. Amadu emphasised the team’s immense talent and the current exceptional form of Nigerian players in Europe.
He however, cautioned the team against overconfidence, urging them to remain focused and approach every match with determination.
“The group may look simple, but underestimating opponents is one of the most dangerous things in football,” he warned. “They must play like wounded lions, mentally and physically prepared, to secure victory.”
Honourable Amadu also called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to prioritise preparations, ensuring the team is fully equipped for success.
With Nigeria placed in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda, the Super Eagles are set to kick off their campaign against Tanzania, aiming to capitalise on their recent successes, including back-to-back African Player of the Year awards by Nigerian players.
“The trophy is ours, Insha Allah, if we work as a team and remain committed,” he concluded.
