UN, Benue Government Launch Action Plan To Support IDPs, Foster Development

The United Nations Resident Coordinator, Mohamed Malick Fall, alongside Nigeria’s Minister Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, officially launched the Benue State Action Plan on Durable Solutions in Makurdi.
They were warmly received by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia.
This groundbreaking initiative underscores a collective commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and advancing long-term development in the region.
Speaking at the launch, Malick Fall emphasised the significance of the plan, stating, “Let us reaffirm the importance of collective action.
This is not just about the launch of a plan; it is about a long-term vision for the future of Benue and Nigeria. I
t is about building a future where everyone, displaced or not, can thrive.”
The launch marks a pivotal step towards sustainable solutions for the resilient people of Benue, aligning with global efforts to foster stability and development.
